OMG I cannot believe you mentioned the book An Instance of the Fingerpost. I am still thinking about that book. I had discussions about it with people now long gone. And I enjoyed the rest of this post too:) But that drew my attention, kindof an obscure book and what a random connection!
A lovely random connection indeed! I love that book but as you say, it is not widely known so very few people I talk to have heard about it. It is an exceptional novel. I still think about it even after all these years since I read it.
