I find that people traveling to Norway have almost always underestimated the need for warm clothing and sensible footwear. July and August are supposedly summer months. Everyone in the northernmost part of the northern hemisphere takes the term “summer” to be an extremely relative term, and traveling in regions that have rain and wind as the most prominent weather conditions, and tourists in flimsy T-shirts and ballet slippers being rescued off a mountain in July is not unheard of, can be a challenge.
